Chief Executive Officer
Danihers Facility Management are proud to have appointed Tony Morwood as their new CEO in 2019.
Tony was born into a family of six boys, he grew up in Melbourne and sport played a major role in all their lives. Tony and two of his brothers, Paul and Shane, were fortunate to have VFL/AFL careers. He also had a very successful career with South Melbourne/Sydney Swans, playing 229 games and kicking 397 goals.
This amazing career achievement saw Tony selected into the Sydney Swans “Team of the Century”. Whilst playing football semi-professionally, Tony was always stimulated with business, and in 1986, Tony ventured down this path. As Tony’s football career was nearing retirement in 1990, he relocated back to Melbourne and owned and managed successful retail outlets up until 2003.
In 2003, Tony was approached by the Sydney Swans to head up their Melbourne operations. After five years in this role, Tony had grown the business significantly and was invited to take on the position as Head of the Sydney Swans Foundation. This saw Tony commuting from Melbourne to Sydney on a regular basis, where he achieved strong commercial success and growth.
Tony has also held the position of non-executive Director on the De La Salle College Board for the past ten years, as Board Chair since 2015.
He has successfully graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
With three children (two of them based overseas) and one grandchild, Tony’s social time is centred on family, a game of golf when it can be organised and keeping a close eye on the Sydney Swans.
