Anthony’s update

As we come out of our Melbourne winter, it is wonderful to see some hints of spring coming our way.  AFL season is approaching towards the pointy end and the mighty Tigers are looking very ominous again this year!!

Although, we must take a moment to feel for the farmers in NSW and QLD who are undergoing difficult times, please have them in your thoughts.

My brother Neale has been an inspiration in continuing to drive awareness and fund raising for the future benefit of MND sufferers, this year hitting the staggering $40 million dollar mark. Please, lets pray that these funds can unearth a treatment for this hideous disease.
My brother continues to walk tall, his legs remain strong, allowing him to look extremely capable, whilst other parts of his body are slowly shutting down, but he is a very tough and driven individual!!!

From our last newsletter, Danihers has been a vibrant entity. Steve Thorogood our General Manager has been busy presenting our Catholic College Sponsorship Grants. He has presented these awards to Principal Peter Morgan at Emmanuel College in Warrnambool, Principal John Cortese at Notre Dame in Shepparton and Principal Dennis Graham at St Josephs in Katherine NT.

We celebrated World Environment Day on June 5th. It is critical we are in tune with our planet, those of you who have been watching “War on Waste”, know it is crucial to get moving in saving our planet.

We have been delighted to sponsor, design and project manage the installation of the ‘Early Years Learning Room & Playground” at the Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School, what a fabulous outcome for all parties.

My wife Jo and I were privileged to be invited by our eldest son Darcy to join him on a discovery tour to Newfoundland in Canada. In June we visited “Artic Alley” and icebergs break off from Greenland. It was truly amazing to witness and understand an amazing culture of Canadian fishermen and women. We observed the amazing Puffin bird in its natural habitat, what a memorable experience it was…

Our journey from Canada continued to London, where I attended a three-day London Expo on Facility Management. The highlight was the presentations on IT platforms for the Facility Management industry. We are delighted to announce that we have chosen a state of art IT platform to manage and drive our Full Facility Management program, which will delight our customers with its reporting elements.

Finally, we celebrated our annual “Christmas in July”, which allows us to get away from the real busy festive season. It’s always great to see everyone dancing and also meeting their partners who are an important extension of our valued team.
